Explore the Santa Barbara Coast with the Stonehouse Paddlers! Outrigger Canoeing 

Launch from the Santa Barbara Harbor with the Stonehouse Paddlers in an outrigger canoe. View the stunning backdrop of the City of Santa Barbara, Stearns Wharf, and the Los Padres National Forest with an abundance of sun, sea, surf, sand, wild life, sail boats and palm trees bursting all around creating an inspirational, jaw dropping, awe inspiring experience every time. In-the-canoe, on-the-ocean class includes hands-on safety drills, technique training and team building; make new, like-minded friends; feel the sense of community and belonging that motivates and inspires you to stay healthy and fit. Canoes, paddles, safety equipment and locking box at the beach are provided.

Participants must be able to swim in the ocean. Beginners are welcome.

Cross Training for Outrigger Canoe Paddling

Cross-training for outrigger canoe paddling. Build shoulder, core and back strength combined with cardiovascular and total body work-out.  This in-the-studio program includes outrigger canoeing safety, protocol, tips and techniques. Feel your confidence and mood surge as you become part of a powerful and dynamic team of women ready to brave the ocean (in a safe and responsible manner), laugh and have a great time. This is a life-style enhancement program created to help you experience Santa Barbara’s most scenic and beautiful coastline to nourish your mind, body and spirit.

When do we meet?

  • Mondays 9:15 AM to 11:00 AM
  • Fridays 6:30 PM to 7 PM

What should I bring?

  • A bottle of water and team spirit!

What should I NOT to bring?

  • Cell phones, jewelry or watches

What should I wear?

  • Swim tops and pants layered, lightweight windbreaker, swim shoes or flip flops – bare feet are okay, sunglasses and fingerless bicycle gloves are useful

What should I NOT wear?

  • Jeans, heavy knits, tight or restrictive clothing, leave your jewelry & watches at home, no platform shoes 🙂

What is provided?

  • Canoes, paddles, safety equipment, locked beach box for keys and personal possessions

What shall I expect?

  • Lots of fun: you could get wet!

$20 per paddler per session.
